SCSA & LTPD
As the introduction and implementation of Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) becomes a reality across Manitoba, we want to provide those interested with a convenient and accessible place to find relevant information about the subject.
At St.Charles Soccer Association, we are dually committed to enhancing enjoyment of the sport for recreational players, and providing opportunities to develop technical skills for players that aspire for a future career in soccer. LTPD is an integral aspect of bringing this idea to life. In essence, LTPD is all about putting player development first.
LTPD is simply an approach to creating an inclusive environment for developing young players to their fullest potential—a philosophy that has been established for years in some of the best soccer nations in the world.
SCSA & LTPD PATHWAY
The goal of the SCSA is to develop players in each of the stages of the player pathway. We want children to develop skills in the 4 corner models of development (Technical, Psychological, Physical, and Social) through quality coaching and having children in a developmentally appropriate environment.

PREMIER PROGRAM(U13-U18)
The Premier program begins after the developmental age. The Premier 1 program is based on a trial and selection process in which the top players of the age group are selected. Throughout the year, the scouting process is continuous to monitor players to ensure that they are in the proper environment.
The Premier 2 program is geared towards players who want to play and commit to more than recreational soccer programming where the player can still develop and have opportunities to play for the Premier 1 team.
RECREATIONAL PROGRAM(U9-U18)

FUTSAL PROGRAM(U9-U17)
One of the main components in the winter season is to incorporate futsal practices and games 1-2 times a week in a 4-month period. These practices will be in addition to their regular team practices.
SCSA COACHING DEVELOPMENT
SCSA will strive to ensure that coaches are up to the standards of Canada Soccer and are trained to the level that they choose to coach.
In addition, all staff and coaches are required to have their Making Ethical Decisions and CPIC before they start coaching a team for our association.
